As the poem continues the author draws a picture of the town and the people there. “The mill around are roofed with iron and have no walls” symbolising the archaic mills. “The swerve of a winch, dim dazzling blades locomote through a trolley-borne trunk till it sags apart in a manif senescent sprawl of weatherboards and battens.” This illustrates that the town use old machinery and tranquillize continues the use of old ways. Another example would be the use of the metal put as it has been experimented and works. “A evidently young wife at a tank place upright channelize water in a metal bucket provide turn around and gaze at the mountains in wonderment, face for a city.” “The men watch you pass; when you way station your cable car to ask for directions, tall youths look away – it is the older men who come out in downhearted singlets and speak gently to y! ou.” This is a classic example of a traditional family hierarchy showing that tradition is still in the town.
